Flow Curtain — Chain Mail

A rolling wave of sensation through motion

$80.00

The Flow Curtain — Chain Mail offers a dense, enveloping field of sensation guided by a single hand. Interlinked stainless steel rings form a flexible sheet in a classic 4-in-1 chain mail pattern, creating a surface that moves as a whole while remaining highly responsive to motion and pressure.

As the curtain is drawn across the body, the individual links subtly roll and shift against the skin, producing a smooth, continuous sensation that feels distinct from dragging strands. Rather than cascading, the contact glides and settles, inviting slower pacing and sustained attention.

The chain mail fabric naturally expands and contracts width-wise, allowing it to conform to body contours and stay centered more easily than individual chains. This makes it especially well suited for broader areas, where the material can drape, adapt, and remain present without slipping off to the sides.

Many people describe the experience as grounding and containing, with a gentle sense of weight distributed across the surface — similar to the comforting pressure of a small weighted blanket, but with fluid movement and tactile detail.

The one-piece D-shaped handle is designed for comfortable one-handed control. A cushioned TPU grip adds softness and security, allowing the curtain to be guided with intention while maintaining broad, even contact. Watching the chain mail settle, expand, and shift often becomes part of the experience, encouraging a slower, more attuned rhythm.

For added variation, the chain mail may be gently warmed on a heating pad or cooled with an ice pack before use.

Materials & Construction

  • Stainless steel chain mail in a flexible 4-in-1 weave, arranged as a curtain

  • One-piece D-shaped handle, 3D printed in PLA or PETG

  • Cushioned TPU grip, permanently affixed for comfort and durability

Handles are available in the same color options as our Flow Wands and Curtains. Each piece is carefully handmade in small batches, with attention to balance, durability, and tactile presence.

Cleaning & Care

Flow Curtains are not intended for full disassembly. Chain mail can be wiped down or gently washed with mild soap and water or isopropyl alcohol, then thoroughly dried. Avoid soaking the handle or grip.

Notes on Use

Flow Curtains are designed for exploratory, consent-forward use. Sensation is shaped by motion, pressure, and attention. We recommend starting slowly, checking in often, and exploring at a pace that feels right for everyone involved.

Looking for a lighter, more fluid experience? Explore our Flow Curtain — Cascading Chains for a softer, watery sensation profile.

  1. Once you've placed your order, use the Handle Color and TPU Grip or Horn Forms below to choose your colors.

  2. Since the handle and the grip are different materials, there's no guarantee of exact color match between the two even if you choose the same colors. We can give it a try if you really want, and send you photos.

  3. Translucent colors may show internal structure of the 3D printed parts, a.k.a. the "infill". Some customers like how this looks, others, not so much.

  4. We can acquire other colors and finishes of handle and grip material, including glitter, 2 or 3 color coextrusions, Matte and Shiny (Silk). Increased price will be determined based on how popular that color may be and the cost per kilogram. Quote available on request.

While we strive to acquire stainless steel components suitable for jewelry, specifically for close skin contact, we are also aware of and appreciate individuals with nickel sensitivities. Therefore, alongside obtaining bulk materials from jewelry suppliers, we employ a nickel testing solution to conduct spot tests, ensuring safety for those who are most sensitive.   This is, however, not a promise of complete absence of allergens. If you have concerns, please reach out to us at info@TactileBloomWorks.com and we would be happy to provide you with a quote for surgical stainless steel.
